AAA Lightglass Optics Improved 4-Cone Mount for Alignment Telescopes

Lightglass Optics is pleased to present its new and improved 4-Cone Mount! Although based on classic design, this mount offers several new features which enhance useability and performance. The powder-coated baseplate is made of Blanchard-Ground Aluminum Tooling Plate, which offers stability through a wide range of temperatures. This baseplate has several below top surface mounting areas, which are spaced to allow mounting on your breadboard or optical table. Alternatively, this can be mounted on a flat adapter plate on your tooling stand. Each of the 4 cones is a separate modular unit, and can easily be replaced should it become damaged. The cones are made of Graphitic Delrin, which has several advantages. These are: Low "Stiction" when turning the cone to level your alignment telescope, which helps keep the image in place. The surface of the cone is hard and wear-resistant, yet is soft enough not to scratch the barrel of your telescope. Each cone is raised and lowered on a nearly 1.000 diameter fine-pitch threaded shaft, which runs in a threaded brass fitting. Each cone has a split-ring tensioner which can be used to lock or offer turning resistance to movement of the cone. The top retainer is also made of Graphitic Delrin to offer the same benefits as the cones. This item is exclusive to Lightglass Optics, and made specifically for us.
